Wordless Wednesday

My great-grandfather, Kristian Olausen Jordbaerhaugen, plows the land in Baerum, Norway, circa 1933.

  2. Thanks, Jenna. I never really noticed before, but compared to him, those horses really are huge!

  3. Great photo, thank you Astrid. I really enjoy seeing these occupational photos from family collections as they give a real insight into people's everyday lives. They are the exception, sadly, as most of the photographs from bygone days that survive are those taken on special occasions.

By the way, I think he's mowing the hay, rather than ploughing, but of course that's a minor detail ;-)

    Regards and best wishes, Brett

  4. Thank you for your comment, Brett, and for letting me know what it is he is actually doing. I obviously know nothing about farming!
